Consumer Unit Upgrades/Replacements

Replacing an outdated fuse box with a modern consumer unit (also known as a fuse box) is a straightforward way to minimize the danger of electric shocks and fires. 

The current consumer units have MCBs (miniature circuit breakers) for every circuit, which are designed to quickly switch off, or "trip," in case of a fault or overload, usually within a fraction of a second, potentially saving lives. 

Additionally, the latest RCBO consumer units offer extra RCD (residual current device) protection for all circuits in a domestic dwelling, as well as those in outbuildings.

New regulations also require you to have Surge protection to protect from damage during thunder and lightening storms as well as, in some cases Arc Fault Detection Devices.
