PRICING

  • Planned labour is charged at
    £30 for the first hour.
    Then £25 per hour. (Per man)
  • Day Rate
    £200 per day (Per man)
  • Emergency call outs are charged at
    £50 for the first hour.
    Then £30 per hour (Per man)
  • We are multi skilled engineers who appreciate the challenges of life when running a home or a business. Please communicate with us if you are concerned about estimates for work.  We will happily break down work into stages focusing firstly on safety and then on aesthetics and luxury to allow you to budget work over a period of time.
  • If you have already had other estimates , we may be able to price match like for like. We will always endeavour to beat prices and we are happy to challenge our suppliers to be as competitive as possible.  However, we will draw the line at matching prices for work that has clearly been priced by industry ‘cowboys’ and would encourage you to consider the risks associated by sub-standard work.
  • We are not currently VAT registered.
  • All extras and variations must be agreed verbally and in writing prior to commencement.
  • The costs stated assume continuous and unhindered access to the site by prior arrangement with you.
  • Unless stated otherwise, the costs stated assume standard working hours between the hours of 08:30 hrs – 16:30 hrs Monday to Friday inclusive. Work required outside these hours will attract out of hours rates.
  • Any additional work not covered and stated in our estimated costs prior to the commencement of any works will attract additional costs.
  • All estimated figures are valid for a period of 30 days from the date of the estimate.

UNFORESEEN CIRCUMSTANCES AND ADDITIONAL CHARGES

  • We try very hard to accurately estimate costs but unforeseen circumstances will result in additional labour and resource costs.
  • Where additional resources are required to complete the work, materials will be charged at wholesale cost.
  • Existing Building Defects such as to the fabric of the building, services or finishes that become apparent and require repair or maintenance work outside of the scope of work proposed in the offer (changes can trigger a historical defect) will not be our liability. We will however be happy to assist you in repairing or arranging for remedial work to be carried out which will be chargeable to the customer.

WARRANTY

  • All work is guaranteed for 12 Months from the date of installation (unless stated otherwise). All materials supplied will be subject to the manufacturers guarantee. Such cover does not extend to goods not supplied by Rob Jones Electrical, physical damage to products, or any instance where the original installation has been altered or tampered with subsequently by third parties.

INSTALLATION

  • All electrical installation work will comply with BS7671: 2018 and any amendments in force at the time of the works. All work where applicable, will also be executed fully in compliance with applicable Building Regulations in force at the time of the work, particularly in respect of work in dwellings to allow the legal Part P obligations to be met.
  • Where work is to extend or modify existing circuits, costs stated assume that the existing installation is in adequate condition and complies with minimum current regulations. Any additional works required, to bring the necessary parts of the existing installation up to standard will be at additional cost to the customer. This will be discussed before any work commences.
  • Unless stated otherwise, all cables will be concealed by chasing into the building fabric or concealed in building voids, under floors, etc. Where impracticable, cabling will be neatly surface run, either clipping direct or housed in trunking and/or conduit.
  • Where carpet or flooring coverings may require lifting to allow concealed installation work this is covered in the scope of works. We will make every effort to avoid damaging them and to refit them to an acceptable standard. However, consideration of employing a specialist fitter may be prudent, at your cost to ensure a fully satisfactory reinstatement upon completion of work. This will be discussed before any work commences.
  • Unless agreed beforehand, chases to walls, etc will require filling and skimming at your cost except where we have made arrangements for this to take place. This will be discussed before any work commences.
  • All endeavours will be made to undertake installation work to a clean standard, using dustsheets and vacuum cleaning equipment as necessary. You are advised to ensure that breakables and loose items are packed away during works.
  • Re-decoration and final making good is excluded from estimated costs, unless specifically detailed as included. This will be discussed before any work commences.
  • Removal from site and disposal of rubble, fittings, materials, general waste and packaging is not included, unless stated in estimate. This will be discussed before any work commences.

OTHER TERMS

  • Any required building regulations/planning permission is the responsibility of the client. This will be discussed before any work commences, and prove may be required.
  • The risk in all goods supplied shall pass to the Client upon delivery.
  • The Client is responsible for ensuring that the property is insured for the duration of the installation work.

INSURANCE

  • We are covered by public liability of £5,000,000 and Professional Indemnity of £250,000.

COMPLAINTS

  • Complaints should be addressed to the proprietor. A written record of complaints and outcomes will be kept on record.

HEALTH AND SAFETY

Estimates will not cover the cost of or control of any hazardous materials (e.g. Asbestos). Where materials suspected of being asbestos are discovered we will plan work around this to avoid disturbing it, or we can arrange for testing to be undertaken at a cost of £150 for three samples. Additional work/materials or testing will be charged on top of the estimated works, or the estimated costs may need to be altered or re-estimated. Any additional costs will be chargeable to the customer. This will be discussed after discovery of hazardous materials and before any further work commences.

DATA PROTECTION (GDPR)

  • We operate a strict policy on the use of data. All client information will be kept confidential and will not be sold or shared with 3rd parties.

PHOTOGRAPHS

  • Customers often find it useful to see examples of work we have undertaken to appreciate how work ordered might look in their own buildings. We may therefore take photographs of work for use on our digital platforms and paper-based media.  Pictures will never be taken that allow the property or customer to be identified.  We will also never use an image that may cause offence, embarrassment or distress.  If you would prefer us not to take pictures of work or if you would like an image removed please notify us.

PAYMENT TERMS

  • Once you have received a written estimate, an initial payment of 30% of the bill may be required to secure a start date. This is to cover the cost of initial materials.
  • Final payment for work undertaken is due 7 days after the issuance of the final invoice.  Please note that a failure to pay within 30 days will result in debt recovery proceedings with additional costs as per legislation at https://www.gov.uk/late-commercial-payments-interest-debt-recovery/when-a-payment-becomes-late
  • Completion disputes – should a dispute arise on completion of the project, the client has the right to withhold a maximum of 10% of the final sum owed until an agreement is reached.
  • Title of all materials and goods remain the property of Rob Jones Electrical until the balance is paid in full.
